Hey, I'm Billy and I'm a twenty three year old cinema studies post grad living back at home with his parents. I. LOVE. MY. LIFE.

I work part time in retail and the rest of my time I'm plotting ways to break into the industry. I took a keen interest in queer and gender studies whilst at university and I'm eager to continue this journey on my own.

I'm passionate about our political climate and take a sociological approach to my studies whilst favouring to treat cinematic texts as historical documents to be understood in their contexts. 

​

My personal taste may possibly lean toward the esoteric but certainly into the eclectic with some of my favourite films ranging from The Garden (1990, Dir. Derek Jarman) to Nebraska (2013, Dir. Alexander Payne). These are just two examples of films that creatively inspire me and have not only influenced my work but my approach to life.

I recently was short listed as one of fewer than eight out of three thousand for the Channel 4 Production Scheme and although ultimately unsuccessful it has put a fire in my belly and a renewed confidence in my ability to penetrate this industry. 

​

I have future ambitions of obtaining my Masters in Gender and Sexuality studies in relation to film and television but in the short term I want to continue making meaningful and (perhaps) artistic research.
