TAKE A LOOK AT MY FILMS!
MODERN LOVE
'Modern Love' was a film made during the second national lockdown. Tasked with devising a narrative film, the immediate challenge was how to make this work without access to locations and being able to cast actors. Devastatingly, I myself would have to be in it. The final film comes off the back of the 'screenlife' trend that became famous in television and film in recent years. This was a technical learning curve and a fun challenge and although there are pacing issues I remain very proud of this exercise.
NONCE
TROSITY
NONCETROSITY is the first film as part of a collaboration and by and large I feel like it was quite successful. Maybe it's just that it appeals to my own (admittedly warped) sense of humour but I think this is a fun film! Yes, there's breathtaking pacing issues and editing problems that I can quite honestly say still haunt me but... there's more to life than perfection! It was a learning curve... and a fun one!
MAPS
When it came to making MAPS we were given the remit of devising a film around the stimuli of... well, maps! Whilst a lot in my class took very emotive, conceptual (and perhaps w*nky approaches) I chose to go down the video game map route. This was the first time I really believed in my own voice and my own approach. Is this a perfect film? No. Obviously not! But it is original and I'm far prouder of that than some tired concept.
PEACOCK KING
PEACOCK KING is the oldest film here and my first success! Not to brag but it garnered something of a cult following at my college and was nominated for an end of year award - so that's nice! This was my first time running free creatively and I think without this I wouldn't have been so confident down the line in my own ideas. Yes its riddled with issues but I tortured my friends for this so its worth it!
OOGWAY
LIVES!!
This project focused around the concept of time and so naturally I went down the route of Doctor Who travelling to Studio 54 and somehow it all has something to do with Master Oogway. Standard fare. In seriousness, I wanted to try my hand with photo collage and animation and although clunky and rudimentary - it was fun! Best not to over think this one... but you've probably learnt that by now!
BABY BOOTS
BABY BOOTS is a response to having to create a narrative with no sound or dialogue. Does MODERN LOVE largely do this better? Certainly. Is this pretentious? Absolutely. But that's fine! I like my approach to this and the sink shot is definitely something I'm proud of and without this I would not have discovered Derek Jarman so maybe this is personally one of the most important films I've made? Nah, it's not. But I do love Jarman!
CAMELOT'S ON FIRE

CAMELOTS ON FIRE is probably one of my better pieces of audio visual work. Tasked with remixing an image and giving it new meaning I tackled the American Industrial Complex and Trumps 2016-2020 presidency. Casual yet effective. It definitely could be better but conceptually it is one of the strongest pieces I've ever made with it using the idea of multiple TV screens as part of a visual art piece.

YOU DIDN'T KNOW MY DAD is part of my university final year course work. My approach to this was to apply theory to filmmaking which by far and away contrasts the rest of these films. Never before had I considered the form so thoroughly or applied so much theory. As such I would definitely say that this film is enjoyed best with context and application of film theory - definitely more of an academic experiment as opposed to artistic expression. That being said it does deal with very personal subjects - namely the passing of my grandad who truly was a giant in my life. This is certainly the most I've ever shared about my own life in any of my work and yet it is approached from a way off distance. Very strange sensation!
